NEW YORK CITY-The Toy Industry Association will make the move Downtown next year as it has selected 100 Church St. to be its new home. The toy industry expects to occupy more than 400,000 sf in the one-million-sf site. The process of signing up tenants is ongoing and the association expects to have all the arrangements together within a year.

The association has been searching for a new home since the sale of the current International Toy Center at 200 Fifth Ave. and 1107 Broadway. The tenant roster there includes Leapfrog Enterprises, VTech Industries and Rose Art. While no leasing information was available, space in the Toy Center can go for $25 to $35 per sf for sub-level, while the upper levels can range from $35 to $40 per sf. Others on the tenant roster at 100 Church include Corporation Counsel, Estee Lauder and the Bank of New York. The retail side features Starbucks and Hallmark.

According to Arnie Rubin, TIA board chairman, a relocation committee searched available space in Midtown and Downtown and chose 100 Church St. because it “best met the criteria set by the TIA board.” David Rosenbloom of Cushman & Wakefield represented TIA in its site selection, along with the firm’s Robert Baraf, Jonathan Rosner and Murray Hill Properties’ Tom Arbuckle.
