ATLANTA-Morris, Manning & Martin has strengthened its real estate practice side with the addition of John J. Ginley III, a New York and Connecticut lawyer for 15 years. He is a new partner in the firm’s real estate capital markets and real estate development and finance groups. The 29-year-old firm has 75 partners and 170 lawyers.

Ginley comes to the firm from Wiggin and Dana LLP in Stamford, CT. He tells GlobeSt.com he has handled commercial real estate transactions totaling more than $3 billion in his career to date and has represented institutional lenders and issuers of multi-property mortgage-backed securities in more than $1 billion worth of transactions.

Among his big deals were the $1.2-billion merger between Cali Realty Corp and the Mack Cos. to form Mack-Cali Realty Corp. Ginley represented Cali. He also represented Prudential Real Estate Securities in the initial public offering of Pan Pacific Retail Properties and participated in the sales of 551 Madison Ave. building, New York and the 801 Figueroa Tower, Los Angeles; and the acquisition of Harborside Financial Center, Jersey City, NJ.

John G. Morris, the firm’s founding partner, says Ginley “will add significant value to our clients and be a perfect fit with our real estate groups.”

Ginley is licensed to practice law in New York, Connecticut and the District of Columbia and is completing paperwork to practice in Georgia. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Mortgage Bankers Association.
