CHICAGO-Home Products International, a supplier to big-box retailers such as Wal-Mart and Target, has signed a 205,077-sf lease at the 1.2-million-sf Midway Business Center. The company signed a 10-year deal at 5501 S. Archer Ave.

Paine/Wetzel·ONCOR International senior vice president William J. Kerrins and vice president Theresa Gleason represented building owner New Management Ltd. in negotiations with Home Products International’s representatives, Phil Rosenberg and Ed Brandt of Epic/Savage Realty Partners.

The industrial park is near a site once considered by Indianapolis-based American Trans Air for a $125-million training facility, which later was shifted to 7101 S. Cicero Ave.

In an unrelated deal, Sebis Direct paid $2.3 million in nearby Bedford Park for a 60,000-sf building at 6516 W. 74th St. Now based in Chicago, Sebis Direct bought the building from Minocqua, WI-based Rumar Inc. to accommodate growth, Epic/Savage Realty Partners/TCN Worldwide brokers say. Partner Jeffery Locascio represented Sebis Direct in negotiations with Larry Johnson of CB Richard Ellis, who represented Rumar Inc.
