SEATTLE-Emeritus Assisted Living has acquired three senior housing facilities in Arkansas. The locally headquartered public company says it acquired 253 housing units for $18 million.

Emeritus did not name the seller or provide any property details. Company CFO Raymond Brandstrom did not return phone calls seeking comment.

Emeritus holds interests in 18,650 units in 185 communities in 35 states. In 2003, Emeritus sold and leased back 24 assisted living facilities in 13 states. The buyer was Nationwide Health Properties Inc. The sale price was $187 million. The value of the leaseback was not available.
