CENTURY CITY, CA-The law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan has signed a lease renewal for 62,500 sf of space at the 2.3-million-sf Century Plaza Towers in a deal that runs through 2018, according to Trammell Crow Co. Stroock & Stroock, one of the nation’s largest law firms, has been a tenant at the class A office project for more than 20 years.The building ownership, institutional investors advised by JPMorgan Real Estate, was represented by Trammell Crow’s Jeff Lasky, Brad Cox and Patti Gilbert. Stroock & Stroock was represented by Peter Best and Lisa St. John of Jones Lang LaSalle. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Asking rates at the towers, which were completed in 1975, range from about $3 per sf per month on up.The twin triangular skyscrapers of Century Plaza Towers, at 2029-2049 Century Park East, anchor the eastern edge of Century Park and comprise two 44-story office buildings managed and leased by Trammell Crow. Century Park is also the site of the 790,000-sf 2000 Avenue of the Stars office, restaurant and retail project now under development by Trammell Crow on the site of the former ABC Entertainment Center.Stroock & Stroock is the latest in a series of tenants that have signed new and renewal leases lately in Century City, including some that have preleased space at the 2000 Avenue of the Stars project. The latest of the 2000 Avenue of the Stars deals to be reported was Fidelity Investments’ agreement to take 10,000 sf of retail space for one of five Fidelity “flagship” investor centers in the country.
