CENTURY CITY, CA-CPA firm Stonefield Josephson will move to Century City from Santa Monica in January in an 11-year, $10 million lease for 25,000 sf at Century Plaza Towers, according to Studley. Jeff Cowan of Studley reports that Stonefield Josephson will move to the fourth floor at the 2049 Century Park East Tower from its existing offices at 1620 26th St. in Santa Monica.

Cowan, Michael Weiss and Tom Parker of Studley’s West Los Angeles office represented Stonefield Josephson, which Cowan notes is among a number of large firms on the Westside that have been looking for space in Century City lately. He explains that Century City can sometimes offer more competitive rental rates than popular Westside markets like Santa Monica, where “The demand for space is high and availability is low,” Cowan says.

Cowan adds that after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, some companies had avoided moving to high profile, high-rise buildings, “because of the strict but necessary security measures taken to ensure tenant safety.” As tenants have accepted the value of what is now considered routine building security, and with several new developments and renovations under way in Century City, the area has re-established its allure, Cowan says.

Another reason for Stonefield Josephson’s move is that the firm is growing, according to Jeff Garrison, president of the CPA firm. He says that the company’s move to the Century Plaza Towers will accommodate future expansion of the business as well. The building owner, 100 Towers LLC, was represented by Jeff Lasky of Trammell Crow Co.
