CENTURY CITY, CA-The law firm of Littler Mendelson has renewed and expanded its offices at 2049 Century Park East in a deal for 43,500 sf, the latest in a series of major transactions at the 2.3-million-sf Century Plaza Towers at 2029-2049 Century Park East. One of the nation’s largest law firms, according to the National Law Journal, Littler Mendelson has been a tenant at Century Plaza Towers since 1997.The law firm was represented by Neil Resnick and Bo Estes of Grubb & Ellis, with the building ownership, institutional investors advised by JPMorgan Real Estate, represented by Patti Gilbert, Brad Cox and Jeff Lasky of the Trammell Crow Co. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but asking rates at the towers, which were completed in 1975, range from about $3 per sf per month on up.The other major deals signed recently at the Century Plaza Towers include a lease renewal for 62,500 sf by the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan and a deal for 25,000 sf by the accounting firm of Stonefield Josephson Inc. Stroock & Stroock, another of the nation’s largest law firms, has been a tenant at the class A office project for more than 20 years. The building ownership was represented by Lasky, Cox and Gilbert in that deal, with Stroock & Stroock represented by Peter Best and Lisa St. John Stonefield Josephson, Inc. to its prestigious tenant roster.In the Stonefield Josephson transaction, the accounting firm signed an 11-year, $10-million lease and plans to move into its new space from existing offices in Santa Monica in January. The CPA firm was represented by Jeff Cowan, Michael Weiss and Tom Parker of Studley’s West Los Angeles office. Stonefield Josephson will occupy the fourth floor at the 2049 Century Park East Tower. The building ownership was represented by Lasky in that deal.
