BOSTON-Meredith & Grew executive vice president David Pergola Sr. resigned after 36 years with the company to take a position as principal with Suffolk Advisors. Pergola, who joined Meredith & Grew in 1970 and was a member of the firm’s executive committee as well as a director and partner, will be involved in sales leasing of Suffolk’s properties in Greater Boston.

In a statement by Thomas Hynes, president of Meredith & Grew’s Boston office, Hynes says Pergola stated his intentions to leave the firm in June. “We had numerous conversations regarding David staying at Meredith & Grew, but ultimately Dave made the decision to leave the firm,” says Hynes, who called Pergola “an institution in Boston’s real estate market.” Neither Hynes nor Pergola could be reached for comment in time for GlobeSt.com’s deadline.

Pergola’s son, David Pergola Jr., also left Meredith & Grew earlier this year to take a position with Cushman & Wakefield’s Boston office.
