MIAMI-Miami Hotel Investments plans to develop the Civica Towers, a 683,000-sf mixed-use project at a site at 1050 NW 14th St. The site is presently occupied by a Days Inn.

The 290-ft-high project will be comprised of a 29-story hotel tower and an 18-story, 424,000-sf medical office condominium tower. There will be 14,655 sf of retail space located on the ground level and 837 parking spaces that will be used by all three components of the project. Miami Hotel Investments is led by Judah Burstyn, Sam Burstyn and Jordan Najjar. Najjar tells GlobeSt.com that Miami Hotel Investments is seeking approval for the project from the city, which is expected to occur in December.

Civica Towers will be located next to the 336,000-sf the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine Clinical Research Institute and Wellness Center and the new Miller School of Medicine Hospital, which the university plans to build. Civica Towers will provide space that is complementary to the new medical facility. “At the request of the hospital, we’re building medical office condominium space,” Najjar says. “There’s a whole expansion program being undertaken by the hospital and we’re part of that expansion program.”

The project was designed by Miami and Dubai-based Borges and Associates. The futuristic design incorporates a Miami Modern style rich in form, colors and patterns. The towers, one elliptical and one rectangular, will be connected by office and retail space, a pool deck and restaurant overlooking Downtown Biscayne. The development will include a visitor’s café in the office tower and a private pool deck with skyline view restaurant in the residential tower. Space will be marketed to healthcare providers and professional businesses.
