NEW YORK CITY-The Upper East Side property that was blown up last month by its owner, Dr. Nicholas Bartha, is on the market for $8 million. The property is listed by the brokerage firm of Brown Harris Stevens.

What remains of the former four-story townhouse is a 20 x 100-ft lot at 34 E. 62nd St., between Park and Madison avenues. As GlobeSt.com reported, It’s said that Bartha was despondent because he was facing a divorce and $4 million lien in a legal wrangle with his wife. A total of 15 people were injured–five civilians and 10 firefighters.

Investigators concluded that the doctor had created some sort of gas leak in the building and added ignition to it. The neighborhood, a tony Upper East Side area that the 2000 Census puts the median home price at $1 million, was shaken by the event. The Doctor died in the hospital from his injuries a few days following the blast.
