TEANECK, NJ-When more than 600 real estate professionals gather on Oct. 3 at the Marriott Glenpointe Hotel for RealShare New Jersey, the meeting will have decidedly political overtones. It’s an election year, of course, and the US Senate race in the Garden State is one that’s being watched closely as control of the Senate hangs in the balance. Incumbent Robert Menendez, a Democrat who was appointed by now-Gov. and former Sen. Jon Corzine as his replacement earlier this year, and Republican challenger Tom Kean, Jr. have both been invited to address the gathering.

The RealShare Conference Series is produced by Real Estate Media, which also publishes GlobeSt.com and Real Estate Forum.

And the Corzine administration itself will be well represented at the meeting. The lead-off keynote address will be delivered by Lisa Jackson, commissioner of the New Jersey DEP, will talk about what the agency has in mind relative to facilitating projects in environmentally challenged locations.

Other highlights of the program include “Inside the Real Estate Mind,” a one-on-one conversation between Emanuel Stern, president and COO of Hartz Mountain Industries, and Michael Desiato, group publisher and editorial director of Real Estate Media. And this year’s Town Hall Meeting, similarly a fixture on the RealShare program, will feature Michael Fasano of Marcus & Millichap, Mitchell Hersh of Mack-Cali Realty, Charles Klatskin of Lee & Klatskin Associates, Kenneth Krasnow of Trammell Crow Co. and David Welsh of Normandy Real Estate Partners.

Other general and concurrent sessions will cover a wide range of topics, everything from taking advantage of redevelopment opportunities, to the state of the office market, to getting deals done in the debt and equity capital markets. Other topics on the agenda include the outlook for New Jersey’s industrial market, mixed-use development strategies and what corporate real estate executives like and dislike about the New Jersey market.
