STAMFORD, CT-GVA Williams of Connecticut reports it has brokered three new lease deals for health retailer The Vitamin Shoppe for stores in upstate New York. GVA Williams Executive Vice President Scott Lifschultz, who represented The Vitamin Shoppe in all three deals, says the new store locations will be in Middletown, Albany and Tonawanda, NY. The North Bergen, NJ based retailer signed a ground lease at 473 Route 211 East in Middletown where it will build a new 4,000-sf free standing building at the former Liberty Travel site directly across the street from the Orange Plaza shopping center. Orange Plaza’s main tenants include Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Kohl’s and Bed Bath & Beyond.

In Albany, Lifschultz and Corey Bialow, president of Bialow Real Estate LLC, represented the Vitamin Shoppe on the 4,050-sf lease at 108 Wolf Rd. The retailer will occupy a freestanding building, formerly occupied by AT&T.

In the Buffalo suburb of Tonawanda, the Vitamin Shoppe has signed a lease and will occupy a 4,200-sf freestanding building formerly occupied by Krispy Kreme at 1250 Niagara Falls Blvd. The location is directly across the street from the Boulevard Mall, which features such tenants as JC Penney, Kaufmann’s, Sears, Comp USA and is one-half mile from Boulevard Consumer Square, which has a number of national retailers on its tenant roster. Lifschultz and Bialow represented the Vitamin Shoppe.

Commenting on the new lease deals, Lifschultz says these transactions are part of the retailer’s expansion throughout the Northeast. “Their dominant presence and branding throughout the country has fueled their aggressive growth, as we continue to secure the best possible real estate in each market,” he adds.
