CARPINTERIA, CA-CKE Restaurants’ Hardee’s chain reported year-over-year same-store sales increase of 5.2% during the month of November, faring better than its other flagship, Carl’s Jr., which inched up 0.8%. CKE’s blended same-store sales rose 2.9% for the month.

Management attributed the re-launch of its Chili Cheese Thickburger to the 1,923-unit Hardee’s rise. The total consolidated revenue for the chain’s company-operated restaurants came in at $49 million through November.

Meanwhile, Carl’s Jr.’s results were challenged by a tough comparison to the same period last year, when comparable-store sales shot up 5.4%. The company-owned units in the 1,079-location chain brought in $43.8 million.

Meanwhile, CKE’s 95-unit La Salsa Mexican Grill, for which the company does not break out same-store sales, took in revenues totaling $3.1 million. The chain has closed three units in the last month.

November’s results were down from high same-store sales gains in October, when Hardee’s rose 7.6% and Carl’s Jr. was up 7.2%. Same-store sales for the current period will be reported on or about Jan. 10.
