GLENDALE, CA-The Paychex payroll services firm has signed a lease for 18,950 sf at the 22-story Lexington office tower at 500 N. Brand Ave. in a move from Pasadena that will relocate the company’s San Gabriel Valley office. Paychex signed the deal after considering a number of alternatives in the Tri-Cities market of Glendale, Burbank and Pasadena, according to Michael Weiner of Daum Commercial Real Estate Services, who represented building owner ING Clarion along with fellow Daum Brokers Paulette Toumazos and Jennifer Donaldson.

According to Weiner, the Paychex deal with Lexington brings the volume of leasing activity at the Lexington this year to more than $15.5 million, the highest volume of new leases signed for any property in the market. Paychex was represented by Dave Willis of Cresa Partners.

ING Clarion is in the midst of a repositioning of the Lexington, a new name that the building owner adopted for the property in January. The repositioning will also feature a remodeled lobby, a café with outdoor seating and a more prominent location for the building’s signature bronze stallions.
