LOGANVILLE, GA-Charlotte, NC-based Faison Enterprises Inc. is developing two retail centers with a total of 1.2 million sf of space. The projects allow Faison to target an area currently underserved by the retail market.

Faison is developing Logan Village, a 650,000-sf center in Loganville on both sides of US Highway 78, the major artery connecting Gwinnett and Walton counties. Faison Enterprises managing partner of the southeast office Mike Cohn tells GlobeSt.com that the project cost is $80 million. The project will feature 12 anchor stores, approximately 75,000 sf of small shops and three outparcels on 78 acres. Phase one of the development is expected to open by late 2008 with phase two in summer 2009.

The company is also planning to begin construction by the end of 2007 on Barrow Crossing, a $75-million, 550,000-sf regional power center on approximately 65 acres at the intersection of State Routes 316 (University Parkway) and 81 in Winder. Faison is finalizing deals with Target, Belk and Publix Super Markets to anchor the center. It will include an additional nine anchor stores, 75,000 sf of small shops and five outparcels for restaurants and services. It is expected to open in March 2009.

Cohn says the centers are located within 10 miles of each other in a high-growth, quality-income area northeast of Atlanta that is currently underserved by retail. “There are two main arteries that serve this area, State Route 316 and Highway 78, and these retail centers will be located on those two roadways,” he says.
