CORONA, CA-The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos, a lifestyle center by Memphis-based Poal & McEwen, has landed a 12,000-sf Trader Joe’s and a 17,500-sf TAPS Fish House & Brewery at the retail portion of the 543-acre Dos Lagos master-planned development. The Trader Joe’s opened last week and the TAPS Fish House is slated to open this week.
The developers note that the TAPS location represents more than $7 million in development and design and that the restaurant will accommodate approximately 500 customers. The restaurant and the Trader Joe’s are the latest major tenants to take their places at the new center, which occupies a site along the Interstate 15 Freeway south of the 91 Freeway.
Earlier this year the Promenade center opened a new Krikorian Theatres 15 at Dos Lagos, which Poag & McEwen has created in a joint venture with a local firm. The developers are targeting a trade area that includes the city of Corona and its population of more than 153,000.
According to Darrell Talbert, deputy director of community development for the city, the Dos Lagos retail center is attracting residents who would normally travel to Los Angeles and Orange counties for shopping and other services. Corona is centrally located between Orange County and the Inland Empire, and the city has been working to attract high-end retailers and other services for its growing population.
The Dos Lagos master-planned development includes residential, retail and other uses. The Promenade Shops at Dos Lagos features a mix of retailers including Anthropologie, bebe, Chico’s, Coach, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, Jos. A. Bank, Talbots, White House
