FORT WORTH-Aerovoice Inc., an El Segundo, CA-based cell phone wholesaler, has bought Nokia Corp.’s former 100,875-sf building to open a hub in Dallas/Fort Worth. The office/warehouse has brought close to the $5.4-million ask despite a three-year stint on the market.

Todd Lambeth, senior vice president of Dallas-based Bradford Cos., tells GlobeSt.com that Aerovoice “really was a perfect match” for the building at 14901 Trinity Blvd. in the 1,300-acre CentrePort Business Park, a mixed-use neighbor of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. “It has all the bells and whistles and all the amenities that this company needed to run its business,” he says. “They could almost walk in on Day 1 and start doing business.”

Lambeth says Aerovoice is doing some finish-out, primarily dropping new power lines over the assembly area to its new equipment. In all likelihood, he says the operation will be up and running within 30 days.

Lambeth and Bradford president and CEO Kevin J. Santaularia represented the Newport Beach, CA-based seller, Fritz Duda Co., which has owned the asset since August 1987. The fully air-conditioned building was built in 1985 at the crossroads of Texas 360 and 183. It has 30,250 sf of mezzanine office, 11 dock-high doors, 354-space parking lot and 7.56-acre gated tract with a guardhouse. The Finland-based Nokia vacated the building at least three years ago.

Rik Massengale of Re/Max DFW Associates in Flower Mound, TX bargained the acquisition for Aerovoice, which is opening its first shop outside the California line. The fulfillment company, marking its eighth operating year, is an importer and wholesaler of wireless phones and accessories.
