EDISON, NJ-TestAmerica Environmental Labs has renewed its lease for 42,000 sf at 777 New Durham Rd. here. The 100,000-sf building is currently 100% leased. Terms were not released.

“We originally leased 12,000 sf at 777 New Durham Rd. to a laboratory that was bought by TestAmerica, which then expanded into 42,000 sf over the years,” says David Zimmel, president of the locally based Zimmel Associates. Zimmel has had the exclusive on the building on behalf of its owners, a partnership, for more than 20 years.

“The space includes offices, lab areas and a small warehouse,” Zimmel says. “Its location is directly off I-287.” TestAmerica has its headquarters in Buffalo and lab locations all over the country.

The deal is part of a total of nearly 87,000 sf of activity generated recently by Zimmel Associates. At Raritan Center I within Raritan Center here, Zimmel represented AmWINS, a wholesale insurance distributor, in a relocation and expansion totaling 13,000 sf. Landlord Summit Associates, headquartered in the building, was represented in-house by Vincent Visceglia.

Also within Raritan Center, the engineering/project management firm O’Brien & Gere leased 7,000 sf at the Business Center, a complex of 12 single-story buildings totaling 125,000 sf. Zimmel represented both tenant and landlord.

Apex Technology Group, represented by Zimmel CEO Bernard Zimmel, has leased 3,179 sf at the 13,000-sf Two Kilmer Rd. here. Packaging services company Rand Diversified took 14,000 sf, a 32,000-sf office building at Three Ethel Rd. here, with Chuck Fern of Jones Lang LaSalle representing the tenant and David Zimmel representing owner Methfessel and Werbel.

Zimmel VP Joel Natter brokered a 2,536-sf lease taken by Leaders Financial Co. at 67 Walnut Ave. in Clark, a 75,000-sf office at Exit 135 of the Garden State Parkway. And David Zimmel arranged a 5,100-sf lease by DB Technology at 60 Walnut Ave. in Clark, a 45,000-sf office building, also at the Parkway’s Exit 135. Terms of the various signings were not released.
