WARRENVILLE, IL-National Express Corp., the North American subsidiary of National Express Group PLC, has signed a lease for the 48,963-sf building at 4300 Weaver Pkwy. here. The school bus operator signed a long-term lease and will use the single-story data center as an operations center, says Joseph Dvorak, EVP with Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler’s office advisory group. The company, which is headquartered in Downers Grove, IL, is consolidating all of its scheduling and dispatching operations into the building, Dvorak says.

The building is owned by Levy Cantera LLC, a venture which includes restaurateur and developer Larry Levy. The building was constructed in 1999 and was previously occupied by PayChex, a payroll, human resources and benefits outsourcing company. National Express Corp. chose the location because of the demographics of the area, it was a newer building, the central location and easy access to the expressway, Dvorak says. The building is in the Cantera mixed-use development and is near the interchange for Interstate 88 at Winfield Road. The asking lease rate for the building was $14.50 per sf, net, he says. W. Donald Jenkins, an EVP, is in charge of the construction and tenant build-out consulting services for the building.
