WASHINGTON, DC-Four teams have submitted bids to the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development to redevelop the District’s Hill East Waterfront into a $1.5-billion mixed-use project. This past spring, the District issued a Request for Expressions of Interest to redevelop this 50-acre stretch of land that includes the former DC General Hospital campus into a LEED certified development consisting of housing, retail, office and parkland. Several firms banded together into teams for the opportunity to bid on one of the last major urban waterfront development projects available.
