INDIANAPOLIS-Jones Lang LaSalle has expanded its presence here by opening a brokerage office for office and industrial property. The company already has about 150 employees that handle property management, but this new office will house professionals with expertise in corporate solutions, tenant representations, consulting, agency leasing, industrial services, project and development services, as well as the facilities management. Dan O’Neill, formerly with the Los Angeles Staubach office before the tenant representation firm was acquired by JLL, will join former Meridian Real Estate principal John Robinson in co-managing this office.

Robinson, who helped found the locally-based Meridian 15 years ago, says he wanted to join a strong platform as it entered the city. “JLL has been committed to expanding their Midwest presence for a long time, they want to have a larger base in Indianapolis. It’s a growing market,” he tells GlobeSt.com.

He says he can’t really say that there’s specific properties that the team will go after. Robinson is bringing some of his leasing listings, including the 1.1-million-square-foot Keystone Crossings complex that has six office buildings, located in the city of Indianapolis. He was the leasing representative for the complex at Meridian. “Keystone is 85% occupied, and has remained stable over the past year, with a high renewal rate with clients,” Robinson says. “BPG bought it three years ago and has put $15 million into it, bringing a product built in the early 1980s to present day with new elevators, lobbies, conference rooms, a fitness center and more.” His former employer, Meridian, is based at Keystone.

Five other brokers are joining the firm in Indianapolis, including Mike Corr, Steve Schwegman, Brian Seitz, Jake Sturman and Abby Cooper. Most were principals with Meridian, Robinson says. “That company will continue,” he says.
