FONTANA, CA-Door Components Inc., a maker of doors and frames along with stainless steel door frames and window frames, has consolidated two facilities into a new 93,183-square-foot headquarters that sits on a five-acre site here in one of two L.A. Basin industrial deals that closed recently. In the other, warehouse and distribution specialist Trans-Freight Express has doubled its capacity with an expansion into a 96,395-square-foot distribution facility in Rancho Dominguez.

The new Door Components facility is a manufacturing plant that features 13,000 square feet of office space at 7980 Redwood Ave. It was completed recently for Door Components by general contractor Oltmans Construction Co. of Whittier, CA.

The $11 million corporate headquarters will employ approximately 160 workers, according to Bob Briggs, president of privately held Door Components, which was establshed in 1981. The new building consolidates operations from Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Designed by architects HPA Inc. of Irvine, CA with Darin Lee serving as project manager for Oltmans, the project was a build-to-suit for Door Components.

In the Trans-Freight Express lease, David Bales in the Klabin Co.’s Torrance office reports that San Francisco-based Trans-Freight has leased a building at 18924 Laurel Park Rd. in a six-year deal valued at about $4 million. Trans-Freight, which is expanding from elsewhere in Rancho Dominguez, is a warehouser and distributor of coffee products, a variety of dry household commodities, vehicles and machinery.

Trans-Freight was represented by Bales and David Grote, a partner in Klabin’s Torrance office. The property owner, Nakano Warehouse, was represented by Rick Mori and Scott Huber of CB Richard Ellis.
