UNION CITY, NJ-The historic Fischer Printing buildings located here at 3500-3504 Palisade Ave. and 214 35th St. were picked up by an independent buyer for an undisclosed price. The buildings consist of three apartments, commercial ground floor space on Palisade Ave. and a three-level brick loft building at 214 35th St. for a total of 4,500 square feet.

According to Bob De Ruggiero, president of Robert De Ruggiero, Inc., Realtors in Union City and Hoboken, who handled the all cash transaction on behalf of the buyer and seller, “demand is strong for mixed-use buildings because the diversification of tenants lowers the risk.” Ruggiero also tells GlobeSt.com that the purchaser will use the assets as rental income investment.

The law firm of Venino & Venino represented the seller, while attorney Marlene Caridi represented the purchaser. Henry Fischer launched the printing business in 1875. In 1907, his son George took over the helm, followed by his son Gerard in 1945. The present owner, Ken Fischer, is moving the business to upstate New York.
