WASHINGTON, DC-The Department of Housing and Urban Development has already allocated the vast majority of the $13.61 billion in funds it is receiving in the stimulus bill, passed earlier this month.

The government agency has allocated $10 billion of the funding it is receiving using a formula-based methodology–meaning it has been allocated using set program criteria that do not require grantees to apply for the funds. The remaining $3 billion will be competitively awarded later, and will focus on promoting green jobs and mitigating the destabilizing effects of foreclosures on communities.

HUD is dispensing the $10 billion in the following categories:
