Large Tenants Consider Downtown Moves

MILWAUKEE-Two large firms are looking to lease office space, offering a large boost to the central business district here. According to a report in the Milwaukee Business Journal, law firm Von Brieden & Roper SC is looking to lease 75,000 square feet and is considering the possibility of locating in 833 E. Michigan St. Likewise, Virchow Krause & Co. LLP is searching for 50,000 square feet.

ARI Network Services Inc., B.C. Ziegler and Co. and AT&T may also be looking to locate downtown.

The 833 E. Michigan Ave. property is being developed by Hammes Co. and has yet to get off the ground. The company is still trying to get financing and tenants in place before construction begins.

Von Brieden & Roper is currently leasing space at 411 E. Wisconsin Ave. The lease, which was signed in 2002, expires in 2013.

Madison, WI-based Virchow Krause & Co., a certified public accounting firm, currently is located in the Honey Creek Corporate Center in Milwaukee outside the city.
