BATON ROUGE, LA-The Associated Press reports that Pinnacle Entertainment has received 150-day delays from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for two Louisiana projects currently on the drawing board. The Las Vegas-based Pinnacle is delaying construction on its $250 million riverboat in Baton Rouge and its $350 million Sugarcane Bay resort, which will be a companion to its L’Auberge Du Lac riverboat resort in Lake Charles.

The article, which can be accessed here, says the Gaming Control Board already approved 90-day delays on both projects in February. Though Pinnacle is in better shape in the credit markets than others, company officials told the Gaming Control Board that interest rates remain too high. The delay gives Pinnacle more time to sign a construction loan and to win zoning approval for the Baton Rouge project.
