BRIDGEWATER, NJ-Barker Bus Co. will make the Bridgewater Industrial Park its new home after the owner of the transportation firm purchased the facility for $5.4 million. Coldwell Banker Commercial Feist & Feist Realty Corp. brokered the sale of the three-building, 100,000-square-foot property.

Located at 81 Chimney Rock Rd., the Somerset County complex was picked up by Peter Chesson of Chesson Management, who also owns Barker. The bus company will move from its current location at Route 22 into a portion of the Bridgewater Industrial Park. The seller was Braddock Realty LLC of Jacksonville, FL.

According to John Adams, president of Coldwell Banker Feist & Feist, the property is about two-thirds into a multi-million-dollar renovation and modernization program. The Basking Ridge, NJ-based brokerage firm has been named the leasing agent for the three remaining warehouse units within the complex that range in size from 3,500 to 9,600 square feet. The bus company will move into its headquarters over a period of time as the renovations are completed, a spokesperson for Coldwell Banker Feist & Feist tells GlobeSt.com.

Peter Wisniewski, recently appointed EVP and principal of Feist & Feist, who represented the buyer, has already signed three new tenants for the property. Wisniewski initiated the sale transaction during his former employment at David Cronheim Co. in Chatham.

“In addition to the renovations being made, the complex offers a number of highly desirable features including high ceilings, wide column spans, heavy load cranes, drive-in loading, abundant car and truck parking, outside storage and a strategic location that is ideal for industrial occupancy,” says Wisniewski in a statement.

The Bridgewater Industrial Park is situated near Interstates 287 and 78, as well as Routes 22 and 28, thereby providing quick access to points throughout New Jersey and the Northeast.
