We just saw a memo sent out to International of Council Shopping Centers members describing changes at its RECon convention next year. There are a few big highlights. The show will have no events in the Las Vegas Hilton or the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center next year. All leasing mall, trade show and educational-session events will now get consolidated into the South and Central halls of the convention center.Additionally, the show is getting shorter. The leasing mall will only operate from Sunday through Tuesday in 2010 and will not be open on Wednesday.ICSC says leasing mall space will stay at $8.25 per square foot, unchanged from last year. And it is negotiating cheaper rental rates and other fare reductions. You can get full details about next year’s show here. So what do you think? Will these changes get more people to attend?
