Latisys Adding 22,000 SF to Facility

OAK BROOK, IL-Citing increased customer demand, Latisys has undertaken a project to expand its 86,000-square-foot Data Center facility by 22,000 square feet. The recently completed first phase of the addition brought to its Oak Brook facility an extra 9,000 square feet, which is already 70% sold. The second phase of the growth will bring an additional 13,000 square feet of high-density raised floor space, a project which is currently underway.

“An increasing number of organizations are turning to our suburban Chicago facility as a cost-effective, secure and seamless way to address their long term need for additional data center space, power and services,” John McCreary, general manager of Latisys Corp., said. “The completion of the first phase of our facility expansion and employee growth reflect Latisys’ commitment to providing customers with the scalability, flexibility and agility to grow and thrive.”

The firm has doubled the size of its Chicago-are employee base since early 2009. It expects staff to continue to increase again by a third in the next six months. The Oak Brook facility has 70 customers, spanning Fortune 500 firms to small and mid-sized organizations, which rely on Latisys for co-location, managed hosting, managed services and disaster recovery solutions.
