PLAYA VISTA, CA-The University of Southern California has signed a 10-year lease for 72,000 square feet of office space at the Campus at Playa Vista in one of four new LEED Gold buildings that are under construction here and nearing completion. The space will be occupied by USC’s Institute of Creative Technologies, which is scheduled to move in during May of 2010.

The project where USC is leasing its space is a joint venture if Tishman Speyer and Walton Street Capital LLC. The space, which has been under construction since early 2008, is scheduled to be completed by year-end and is now nearly 70% leased. Previously, Tishman Speyer signed Belkin International for 150,000 square feet for two buildings that will serve as Belkin’s corporate headquarters.

Terms of the USC lease were undisclosed. The building ownership was represented internally by John Ollen and Paul DeMartini. Located in the eastern portion of the Playa Vista community, the Campus at Playa Vista is adjacent to the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Centinela Avenue. The project was designed by the Gensler architectural firm.
