WASHINGTON, DC-Jeff Lubar, director of communications for the Mortgage Insurance Cos. of America, died last week after a battle with cancer. Also a long-term member of the National Association of Real Estate Editors, Lubar had strong ties through the commercial real estate industry. 

Prior to joining MICA, Lubar was vice president of public affairs for the National Association of Realtors and director of communications for HomeGain.com. He had also served as Washington bureau chief of Susquehanna Broadcasting Co. He was active with NAREE member for 25 years, serving as the association’s vice president as well as a board member throughout that time. At the time of his death, he was head of NAREE’s marketing committee. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and three children.
