NEW YORK CITY-The state is planning for a casino in the Catskills. Governor David Paterson has inked a deal with the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of Mohicans to develop a new casino and resort in the hill country.

Under a land-settlement agreement, the band will give up a 230,000-acre land in Madison County for a 300-acre land in Sullivan County. State lawmakers are looking at the project as a blessing because it will help to regain the local economy. For the full story, go to New York Observer.
