SAN DIEGO-In a major boost to the housing market in San Diego County, Beverly Hills-based builder, Shapell Homes has purchased nearly 200 acres of land in Carlsbad’s Robertson Ranch, and intends to construct over 600 homes in a few years. Shapell Homes expects to start construction at the site in nearly two years.

This comes after Standard Pacific Homes pledged to invest about $150 million in a stalled residential project near Escondido, which will have over 700 homes spanning 468 acres. For the full story, go to San Diego Business Journal.
