LOS ANGELES-Allen Matkins, a California-based real estate and business law firm, has added real estate attorney Douglas T. Lane to its Century City office. Lane has had six years of experience specializing in a wide range of real estate transactions with a special focus handling acquisitions and depositions, sales and purchases, leasing, financing and development.

“Doug brings with him a cross-section of experience in real estate transactions and finance, which will add to the formidable existing strength Allen Matkins has in those areas,” John M. Tipton, operating partner of Allen Matkins’ Century City office, says in a press statement.

Lane attended Loyola Law School and previously worked as an associate with McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, where he played a substantial role locating and securing Tesco’s Fresh & Easy grocery stores locations in Arizona, California and Nevada. He was involved in coordinating the leasing activity for more than 50 store locations, as well as acquisitions and purchases and sales. Lane additionally has experience in litigation for product liability and loan refinancing for major US financial institutions.

“His work on a variety of major leasing and acquisition matters will allow him to immediately contribute to our real estate group,” says Tipton.

Allen Matkins has recently added several new team members to its offices throughout California, and promoted six associate team members to senior counsel, as reported by GlobeSt.com last week. This year, the firm has added 12 new lateral attorneys—like Shelby Q. McMahon to its Orange County office—named five new partners to the firm earlier this year and hired seven newly graduated law school students. The on-going expansion has helped Allen Matkins maintain its status as the largest department of transactional real estate attorneys in the West US, with more than 200 attorneys in California’s four major cities.
