TAMPA-A week from today, life science business executives will gather here for the annual BioFlorida conference. This year’s event describes the state as an “evolving epicenter” for the life sciences.

Florida does not have a high ranking on many bioscience lists. For example, The Milken Institute recently ranked Florida No. 38 among the 50 states on its science and technology index, while Central and South Florida came in at No. 18 among 21 regions in the United States in a Jones Lang LaSalle Life Sciences Cluster report released in early 2013.
