BROOKLYN, NY-GlobeSt.com reported yesterday on strong growth in Manhattan’s retail sector, but the outer boroughs are doing quite well too, according to retail guru Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, Douglas Elliman Real Estate retail group.

In Brooklyn, new dining options seemingly are multiplying exponentially. Shalom Japan debuted at 310 South 4th St. in Williamsburg, along with Fitzcarraldo at 195 Morgan Ave. in Greenpoint. The area of Red Hook is coming back from superstorm Sandy with the reopening of the Home Made wine bar at 293 Van Brunt St. Dumbo will see the return of thelegendary River Café  while the Atrium DUMBO has replaced Governor at 15 Main St. Saul will relocate from Cobble Hill to the Brooklyn Museum. Meanwhile, Blue Bottle, from San Francisco and New York, will open another coffee café at 85 Dean St. On the retail side, Beacon’s Closet is relocating from Williamsburg to 74 Guernsey St., in Greenpoint.
