Developer Looks to Convert Office to Residential

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Fougler-Pratt of Rockville, MD is proposing to replace a vacant Baileys Crossroads office building with a multifamily project that could include as many as 500 apartments.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Fougler-Pratt of Rockville, MD is proposing to replace a vacant Baileys Crossroads office building with a multifamily project that could include as many as 500 apartments.

The 169,000-square-foot office building at 5600 Columbia Pike was acquired by Government Properties Income Trust in 1996 for $13.5 million. Until 2011, it was occupied by the Defense Information Systems Agency, which relocated to Fort Meade in Maryland’s Anne Arundel County.
