TYSONS CORNER, VA—The long-standing Westpark Plaza plan by Vienna, VA-based The Dittmar Co. has gotten the thumbs-up from Fairfax County planning staff.
The Fairfax County planning staff approved the proposed rezoning of the 5.37-acre site for the more than 1 million-square-foot mixed-use project. The property currently features the Westpark Hotel, which will be demolished and replaced with four new buildings, according to the Washington Business Journal.
The plan calls for a maximum of 1,300 residential units in two buildings, 150 to 300 hotel rooms in a third building, an amenity-only building constructed atop a 2,267-space parking garage and up to 24,500 square feet of retail space.
The first phase of Westpark Plaza will feature a building of up to 31 stories, with between 480 and 610 residential units and a maximum of 13,500 square feet of retail space. MTFA Architecture Inc. of Arlington is the project architect. See story in the Washington Business Journal.
