SAN DIEGO—Grocery tenants are a “bread-and-butter” investment, according to Clarice Clarke, the president of Lee & Associates Central Coast office. The grocery industry is evolving and grocers are one of the most in-demand tenants to anchor retail shopping centers. At the recent ICSC Western Division conference, we sat down with Clarke for an exclusive interview to talk about the industry and how landlords can attract these tenants.

During the interview, Clarke also discussed the compressed cap rates and where they are headed, especially if interest rates were to move up nominally before the end of the year.
