San Francisco-based Handlery Hotels and Solano Beach-based Chelsea Investment Corp. want to build The Presidio View at the site of the closed Cinema 21 Theater on Hotel Circle North, now being used by a church group. The hotelier is also mulling an expansion of its nearby Handlery Hotel and Resort.
The city planning commission is scheduled to consider the plan, which would require a zoning change from commercial to residential, on Aug 10. The developers hope to start construction early next year and complete the project about 18 months later.
