As part of the deal, developers George de Guardiola and Bruce Rendina of West Palm Beach, FL are buying 64 acres adjacent to the ballpark at an undisclosed price for construction of stores, townhouses and restaurants. They will also expand an existing hotel and conference center.

Their project is expected to replicate the successful Abacoa Town Center in Jupiter, FL, which was privately developed around the spring-training facility of the St. Louis Cardinals and Montreal Expos.
