The spaces are part of an ongoing city plan to add more than 5,000 newparking spaces over the next three years, according to the Centre CityDevelopment Corp. The Downtown area has plenty of shoppers and workers, but parking is in short supply.
Another 500 spaces are scheduled to come on line in December--just in time forlast-minute holiday shopping--when a seven-story parking structure at SixthAvenue and Market is finished.
