Smart Growth Conference in Westchester

The all-day planning conference is entitled Growing Smart Together Through: Heritage, Tourism, Riverfront Revival, Downtown Revitalization. Featured participants will include Westchester County Executive Andrew Spano who has used some of the principles of the national “smart growth” municipal planning movement as staples in his economic development efforts.

Others scheduled to appear are Lieutenant Governor Mary Donohue, Yonkers Mayor John Spencer, Rochester Mayor William Johnson and Ossining Town Supervisor John Chervokas, who also serves as chairman of the Historic Hudson River Towns organization. Croton-on-Hudson Mayor Robert Elliott and other officials with downtown revitalization organizations and environmental groups will also be on hand.
