Tentatively anchored by a Bloomingdale's and a 20-story hotel,the project recently won approvals from the city RedevelopmentAgency Commission, Planning Commission and Recreation and ParksCommission. A series of hearings before the Board of Supervisors isnext on the agenda.

The site is directly across Market Street from the Powell Streetcable car turnaround and the adjoining Nordstrom-anchored SanFrancisco Shopping Centre. All told, the proposed developmentincludes a 375,000-sf Bloomingdale's, 500,000 sf of other retail,restaurant and entertainment, a nine-screen cinema with seating for3,000 and a 350-room hotel.
