Telecommunications companies are the predominant tenants in thecorridor from San Rafael to Rohnert Park, according to the report.Indeed, so many have located there that area brokers are callingthe area "Telecom Valley."

The increased interest by tenants also is illustrated by a rashof new projects in the Airport Business Park area between SantaRosa and Rohnert Park. The development has pushed vacancies in thatsubmarket to 10.3 percent.

Sonoma County had 484,400 square feet of vacant space andanother 448,000 square feet planned or in construction at mid-year,according to the report. On the up side, the report says thevacancy rate will drop fairly fast due to demand.
