Hearing concerning five-story office building

KIRKLAND, WA- Davidson, Serles and Associates has filed an appeal to a negative decision regarding a proposed five-story office building at 424 Kirkland Way, contending the city didn't properly consider several aspects.

The site now contains the city's last downtown hardware store, which is to close by October. West Water Real Estate Services' redevelopment plans calls for a 117,815-square-foot office building with 392 parking stalls and ground-floor stores.

The appeal hearing will start at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 123 Fifth Ave. Anyone may speak or submit written comments at the hearing. Information about the proposal is available in file No. IIB-99-61 in the city's planning department.
