LCDC May Consider Extending UGB

DAMASCUS, WA-Metro officials are lobbying the state's Land Conservation and Development Commission to extend the urban growth boundary, possibly into the fields around this city east of Portland

Metro, the regional government, is lobbying for the fields around Damascus to be included in order to generate more high-tech campuses and other industrial development that will bring jobs. Metro says a worsening jobs and housing imbalance in Clackamas County is limiting its capacity to pay for rapid residential growth.
