Intergulf Development Corp. and Bosa Development have each received approvalfrom the Centre City Development Corp. for projects that will add toDowntown San Diego's already towering skyline. The multifamily projects are part of a residential boom that Downtown boosters sayincludes more than three dozen projects that will add more than 4,000 newdwelling units to the area.
Vancouver-based Intergulf plans to build the Treo @ Kettner live/workproject on one city block bounded by Kettner Boulevard, A, B and India streets. The324-unit project is scheduled to break ground inOctober and take about two years to build.
The 26-story development is designed by San Diego-based Carrier Johnson. It includes wiring for high-speed Internet access, along with such amenities as a lap pool, hottub and fully equipped exercise center.
Meanwhile--just a few blocks away—Bosa Development Corp. plans two39-story glass towers and several three-story townhouse buildings . Its 432-unit Santa Fe Depot Condominium Towers will sit on a two-block sitefacing Pacific Highway, between A and C streets. Groundbreaking is set for early next year, with completion expected in a little morethan two years.
Bosa Development, also based in Vancouver, is already building two majorcondo projects Downtown. Its 22-story Discovery at Cortez Hill projectincludes 199 condominiums and townhomes and is scheduled to open by early 2002. Its other project, called Horizons, should be finished early next year and includes 194 condos in two 25-story towers, eight two-story townhouses and nine live/work condos above commercial spaces.
