The workers are members of Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees UnionLocal 30. They're in negotiations with management of the Hotel del Coronado and say they will picket if an agreement isn't reached by midnight Thursday.
The union wants a longer contract, better wages and a commitment by thehotel to pick up the full cost of health insurance. The hotel, on San Diego's Coronado Island, is in the midst of a $55-million renovation slated for completion next spring.
