Wal-Mart Closes $7.3 Mil. Land Deal for Superstore Site

ORLANDO-The Bentonville, AR-based retailer pays MetroWest Land Development Co. about $293,480 per acre or $6.74 psf for a 25-acre tract to build a 229,000-sf prototype structure in southwest Orlando.

The project will feature Boca Raton-style architecture with a clay tile roof and extensive landscaping, a fancy touch for Wal-Mart's usual plain vanilla, big-box stores. The Orlando office of RJ Twitty & Co. and Landmarks Realty handled the transaction. RJ Twitty's local division has closed and committed transactions of $244 million over the past 12 months.
